Welcome to Term 3
This term we have been covering the topic of Alchemy. We have enjoyed a variety of art activities for this topic.
We also welcome our new sports coach, who will be coming in each week to teach us new skills.
We have had a very messy time making our clay pottery in the style of old alchemy potion bottles.
Our New Sports Coach
Alchemy Island Map
We worked really hard on our alchemy map, each taking a grid and creating our section. We found it tricky, making sure each part matched, however we persevered and produced a fantastic masterpiece.
Ready for Art!
This is where we created our own magical islands, using watercolours and the perspective skills we have recently learnt.
Our End of Term Showcase!
Welcome to Term 4
We are very excited to be starting our new topic ‘Off With Her Head’. We will be looking at King Henry VIII and his six wives. We will also be studying what Tudor life was like for the rich and the poor.
World Maths Day!
To start this busy term off we were very lucky to participate in an afternoon of Maths challenges. We enjoyed trying the different games in our groups, even though some were tricky we persevered and achieved success.
Art and Design
We had an interesting art lesson looking at the life and work of artist Pablo Picasso. Did you know that Picasso was a firm believer of painting all features of a person, even if you could not see them?
Here is our 'Picasso' inspired King Henry VIII!
We also spent time creating our own Tudor portraits and made our own gallery to showcase them.
Nous avons passé une merveilleuse journée à apprendre à parler et à écrire en français
(We spent a wonderful day learning how to speak and write in French)
We also enjoyed some yummy croissants.
Once again we have been very fortunate to have specialists come into the school to teach us all about steel drums. We even got to try out the drums and learnt some Caribbean dance moves, ending with a firm favourite of ours.... The Conga!
World Book Day!
What an amazing day we had dressed as our favourite book characters. We were lucky enough to be able to work with year 3 to produce some brilliantly written stories based on the book ‘The Night Gardener’.
Tudor Inspiration Day!
What an amazing day we have had!
We were very lucky to have Tudor specialists come in to teach us all things Tudor. From the clothes they wore, to the armour and weapons they used.
We have been spending our P.E lessons learning and perfecting a range of dances, with the help of Mr Patel our Sports Leader, which we showcased in a special assembly for the rest of the school. We had such a blast and by the end everyone was on their feet joining in.
During KS2 SATs week there will be breakfast club from 8:15am for all Year 6 pupils.
